Madison Violet
Updated: Aug 10, 2020
I first heard Madison Violet, the Juno-nominated Canadian band from Toronto, Ontario, while sitting in my car listening to CBC Radio while at Kaloya beach in Oyama. I liked their sound so much that I actually pulled out my cel phone and hit the video ap, recording the song that I might search it out later.
The band consists of Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac. Their sound is notable for crossing over between folk and pop sounds, but when I listen to them, I hear the sound of the Maritimes, and it makes me want to travel east and attend crab roasts to the calls of seagulls and the smell of the Atlantic. It also makes me want to learn to play the fiddle, or, at least meet a fiddle player who would like to play music with me.
I love this band for their great harmonies and for their acoustic/ steel-guitar/fiddle/banjo driven songs.
Madison Violet is touring, and will play Penticton's Dream Cafe April 19, 2018.
This song, Heat, is the one I listened to that day in Oyama. Enjoy!
